Why Government Organizations Need to Modernize Their ERP Systems

Why modernize E R P solutions?

You probably already have a system, A system you implemented 20 years ago, 25 years ago, you spent multimillions of dollars on that system. You had a team of consultants come in and live in your basement with your IT team and build this thing for you over years. Why would you change? The answer is you need to modernize so that your operations are seamless, they're automated, and that you're getting the right information at the right time. Systems that were built about 20, 30 years ago that you probably are operating on today don't have the capability to run without silos. Those systems, in my experience, are making you work for them with modifications, excel sheets, workarounds to workarounds, people that spend their time copying and pasting between Excel sheets. People on your staff that could be more useful to you in a strategic manner are spending their time chasing paper, and that's the major reason why you should modernize an E R P system.

More Effieincy

The other reasons all stem from transparency, better utilization of taxpayer assets and dollars, and making sure that your operations are seamless, that they're automated and that they're transparent. In your organization, you probably have the servers, the networks, the computers that do all the work for you, at least on paper. It looks like you have all the things that should make life easy for you and your team. However, our experience shows that even though you have a system, you're doing work on sticky notes, excel sheets, and readings of paper. Why is that and how can you change that? It's 2022 and your workforce expects to do business on their cell phones. If they're working out of their offices, they're working on laptops and tablets and they don't have access to that file cabinet at your office. You need to modernize E R P systems because you need to give your workforce the tools that they expect and they're using their personal lives.

Less Paper

When was the last time you went into a bank or a post office? All of your work is done on tablets, your laptop, your cell phones, and when you come into work at the city or county building, you're laden with paper. Your processes are broken, your processes are inefficient, and you're not utilizing taxpayer dollars to the best effect. More importantly, the workforce needs the tools that they desire and they expect do they work better? Modernizing European systems is not a fun task. It's not an easy task, and many times it is a once in a lifetime, a once in a career opportunity for you to leave a mark as a leader of your organization. Government agencies, cities, states, transit agencies, housing authorities, utility departments. All of us need to modernize E R P solutions so that we can get the best out of our tools and that we are not laden with paper and Excel sheets that don't make our work more efficient. We need to modernize E R R P systems so that we can have peace of mind and automation in our day-to-day work.
